I received this for a honest review. Though this is book 2 of the Veletti Crime Family series this book works fine as a standalone. This was such a great book.Elle Hawthorne did not know how her life was going to change when she walked in that restaurant. She had no idea that it was the main headquarters for the mafia. She was just trying to escape the things she was going through not meaning to walk into danger.
I truly felt sorry for Elle. She truly had a crummy life. She was in college and had her hands full with her mother. She did not have a mother that loved her. All her mother wanted her for was a way to get money or take out loans. The best thing that could happen to Elle would be her mother ripped from her life. Her mother is pure poison the Ellie’s life if you ask me.
Vince was a mess..LOL When he saw Elle all he could think about was how fast he could get in her pants. He knew that she had no idea the danger she was in walking into the restaurant. Most people knew to stay away. Vince was the underboss of his family. His father was proud of him.
The one thing I loved about this mafia family is they were close. Family came first. They would do everything in their power to protect their own. So I guess when Vince started trying to protect Ellie and keep her from getting killed they had to be surprised and maybe a little betrayed. No one truly wanted to kill her but it was just the way it needed to be.
I guess when Vince came up with a solution and started claiming her as his own the family had to think he lost his head. I am sure even Ellie had to be wondering what Vince was thinking as well.
I think the more the book goes on Ellie’s mother truly shows her true colors. It will make you sick at the way she uses her daughter. The woman is truly heartless, I do not care if she did have a drinking problem.
Trouble seems to find Ellie. Danger will be at the beckon door and Vine will have to figure out if she ran or was taken. If she was taken he will have to figure out who took her.
I loved Ellie’s strength in this book. She shown that she would not go down without a fight. As you read you will see as people come at there she plants her feet firmly on the ground and fights. I loved that about her.
This was a awesome story and glad I got a chance to read it.

This was simply REPUGNANT. Omg, this male lead (because there is NO hero in this book) is deplorable. He kidnaps the heroine, roofies her twice, throws her in a trunk, bashes her head against a door, ties her up for hours at a time so she can't move and threatens to kill her repeatedly, His family wants her dead, so he decides to impregnate her in order to keep having sex with her. This TSTL doormat of a heroine who is still in captivity goes along with it because she's always wanted to have kids. Are you serious? How on Earth did this book get these great reviews? Wow this was bad. So yourself a favor and skip this drivel.
Another mafia book, another dark and intense reading for sure.
His Hostage tells the stories of Vicent and Elle.
Vicent is the underboss of the Valetti family and he's a very hot and sexy man. He's full of himself and has every right to be that way because one look at him and you're doomed. He can have all the woman in the planet for his pleasure and that's it. No strings attached, no relationship, nothing. But things can change in a sec. One single look at Ella and things will change.
Ella is the sweetest girl uses to work a lot to be able to pay her moms debt and recovery. She don't have time for dates or friends because every single minute of her life she is working or studying.
On a normal day she witnessed something she shouldn't and her life took a turn. A reall turn but will it be for the best or for the worst?
This book is more intense with a lot of sex scenes with a little spicy to the mix. There were parts of the book that I wanted to hit a few characters but hey, we can't always have what we want. Lol
Sweet lord, the flame is getting bigger by the minute.
Third book here I come.
Elle is a student who moved into her mothers new house since her mother is a drunk who cannot afford the bills. To add insult to injury the house is in Elles name.
One day when Elle needs to study she decides to go to the bistro close by and sit in a booth. Unbeknown to her its owned my the mafia Don. The Dons son Vince becomes interested in her and they have a little makeout session in the back but not all the way since shes a virgin.
Elle gets mad at Vince and storms into a room she isnt supposed to and comes across 2 guys beating another guy. For most people a witness would be a death sentence but Vince doesnt want that so he roofies her so she forgets. She gives him a hard time until they get to a safe house and wakes up and doesnt remember. He thinks hes all clear now that he doesnt have to kill her. But will her memories comeback. Also there is a war between an MC and the mafia. Will she get caught in the ceossfire?
Okay...so I enjoyed the story alright. The pacing was fast, even though the immediate arousal at times was a little far-fetched, but it was a good read. Vince (who isn't much far removed from Tommy, Dom, AND Kane) seemed like his heart was in the right place when he tried to protect Elle, who seemed somewhat strong at first, then turned into some simpering pet that couldn't do anything for herself after he comes along (ugh). I don't mind the guys. I mean it does say that these men are all basically possessive and sex-crazed objectifiers of women, especially (and ironically) those they "care about" in the description of each book. But do the women have to be so damned weak and wishy washy? Oh well. Anyway, I was mostly entertained, so I guess that's all that matters. But I do think I'm good on the "bad boy mafia" books for a while. Time for something more realistic and women with more backbone.
