Unfortunately, fate had other plans. Set in 1776, my short story, A Christmas Crossing describes the night that changed the course of the Revolutionary War. It is not your typical Christmas story, but one that has affected every fabric of our lives as an American.
I was inspired to write A Christmas Crossing after visiting Yorktown, VA. I have always been enamored by the Revolutionary War and wanted to share my love for history with my love for Christmas. I hope you enjoy it.

A Christmas Crossing is a short story that serves to introduce the author' novel, War of Hearts. Following the main character, Sarah from Washington's crossing of the Delaware and beyond, we see her family decimated by the British Army and her own character and patriotism matured.This wasn't quite what I was expecting, but was an interesting read. It would be a good young adult selection as it covers this part of American history in an interesting and simple way. The author even includes maps of each battle site.

Good read. Short story.
Nice short story of the Delaware Valley during the Revolution. Close to home, and similar to a drama we performed on a Christmas past.
Although not your typical Christmas Story as the author freely warns, it is a good reminder to everyone who loves their freedom.
This excerpt is a story of America's history told from the point of view of an American girl following her brother into battle during the Revolution. Well written and worth the read.
I'm not sure I'd even call this a short story. A snippet, perhaps. And other than singing a Christmas carol in one scene, there was nothing Christmassy about it! If it was meant to be a teaser for the upcoming book, it failed; I have no desire to continue the story.
Nicely written short Christmas story for young readers. I do not know how true this story is; requires a bit of research.
